The Dunkermotoren E600R is the highest-torque power-off brake in the Dunkermotoren range, rated at 7 Nm nominal torque on a 24 Vdc supply with a torque range of 7.00–9.00 Nm over the temperature range. It is based on spring force, a design that is particularly robust and insensitive to temperature and load changes.

The E600R draws 0.61 A at 14.7 W nominal input power, with a 20 ms activation time and an 85 ms deactivation time. It measures 84 mm in diameter by 50 mm long, weighs 0.9 kg and runs with low noise. Protection class is IP20 as supplied; brakes can be mounted openly or with covers in protection class up to IP65, and in combination with brushless motors they can be integrated into the motor profile housing at IP65. The E600R pairs with BG95 motors in that configuration. Connection is by 500 mm AWG24 leads, blue for GND and red for Vdc.

All rated values apply in the run-in condition.

Dunkermotoren E600R spring-applied power-off brake with metallic housing, central bore and mounting pins
Features
  • Spring-force power-off design holds the load when the 24 Vdc supply is removed: the axis stays put on power loss with no holding current
  • 7 Nm nominal holding (7.00–9.00 Nm over temperature): the highest torque in the range, for the heaviest axes and largest motors
  • Insensitive to temperature and load changes, so holding stays predictable through duty cycling and thermal swings
  • Low-noise operation for quiet installations
  • Integrates with BG 95 motors inside an IP65 profile housing, or mounts open at IP20, up to IP65 with covers
  • 20 ms engage / 85 ms release timing tuned for controlled holding on high-inertia loads
  • 500 mm AWG 24 flying leads (blue GND, red Vdc) for direct wiring, no adapters or extra tails

FAQs
The E600R is rated at 7 Nm nominal torque with a 7.00–9.00 Nm range over temperature on a 24 Vdc supply: the highest-torque brake in the Dunkermotoren power-off series, more than double the 3.3 Nm E310R below it.
A power-off brake holds the load when supply voltage is removed and releases when it is applied, so the axis is held automatically on power loss, emergency stop or shutdown. Specify one wherever a vertical axis, gravity load or positioning stage must not drift while the drive is de-energised: it is a holding brake, not a service brake for decelerating a moving load.
It runs on 24 Vdc drawing 0.61 A at 14.7 W nominal input power, engages in 20 ms and releases in 85 ms. All rated values apply in the run-in condition, and the torque range applies over the temperature range.
At 85 ms the E600R has the longest deactivation time in the series, against 65 ms for the E310R and 20–30 ms for the smaller models. That is a consequence of the larger spring and armature needed to generate 7 Nm. Engagement is unaffected at 20 ms, matching the E310R: the brake still catches the load quickly on power loss; it simply takes marginally longer to free the axis on start-up, which is worth allowing for in cycle timing.
In an IP65 extruded-body installation the E600R is listed with the BG 95 motor, giving an overall length of 65 mm. Mounted openly or with covers it can be fitted to other motors in the range. Send your motor model to sales@powerbox.com.au to confirm the arrangement.
The E600R measures 84 mm in diameter by 50 mm long and weighs 0.9 kg, the largest and heaviest brake in the series. It is supplied with 500 mm AWG 24 leads, blue for GND and red for Vdc. It is also rated low noise.
The brake itself is IP20 as supplied. Brakes can be mounted to the motor openly or with covers in protection class up to IP65, and in combination with brushless motors they can be integrated into the motor profile housing at IP65, so the achievable rating depends on the mounting arrangement rather than on the brake alone.
Selection depends on the holding torque required at the axis, the motor series the brake mounts to, and whether an IP65 profile-housing installation is needed. Send your motor model and load details to sales@powerbox.com.au and Powerbox will confirm the right brake and mounting arrangement.
