Position Description
We are seeking a DC Power Design and Application Engineer to join our Sydney team. This role will focus on designing, configuring and supporting DC power systems across our core markets, including rail and transportation, telecommunications, electronic security and utilities. You will work closely with customers and our global technology partners to deliver engineered solutions, provide technical expertise, and support projects from concept through to deployment.
Reporting to the General Manager | Sales, this role combines engineering design, technical support, and customer engagement, giving you the opportunity to deliver innovative and reliable power solutions that make a real impact
The Brief
- System Design: Configure DC power systems for mains-powered and solar hybrid applications (24 Vdc, 48 Vdc, 110 Vdc, 220 Vdc, and AC integration).
- Application Engineering: Specify system architecture & integrate rectifiers, inverters, controllers, batteries, and cooling systems to meet customer requirements.
- Documentation: Prepare BOMs, schematics, single-line diagrams, and build packages for relevant stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with sales, engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams to deliver solutions that are fit-for-purpose and compliant with Australian standards.
- Customer Support: Provide technical advice during proposals, tenders, commissioning, and aftermarket service.
- Testing & Commissioning: Assist with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), develop test procedures, and support site deployments.

Responsibilities
- Supporting sales with technical input for tenders, proposals, and cost estimations.
- Participating in customer meetings to clarify requirements and validate solutions.
- Ensuring designs comply with industry standards and customer specifications.
- Acting as a technical point of contact during project delivery and aftermarket service.
- Coordinating with internal teams to ensure on-time and accurate project execution.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical / Electronic) or trade equivalent.
- 3+ years’ experience in DC power system design, configuration, or applications engineering.
- Experience working with modular rectifier platforms (Eltek preferred) and site controllers, including setup, configuration, and performance optimisation.
- Proficiency in CAD tools (for schematics and GA drawings).
- Experience in Telecommunications, Rail, or Utilities environments.
- Strong communicator with proven problem-solving skills.
- Highly motivated, with strong time-management and organisational ability.
