Solutions & Services: Access Control Integration
Factory-Built Access Control Panels.
Ready for Site.
Free-issue your access control equipment. Powerbox engineers and builds the enclosure, DC-UPS, battery and protected power distribution around it, delivering a completed assembly ready for final site connections, programming and commissioning.
The decision
Keep Your Technicians Where They Add the Most Value
Access control panels have to be built somewhere. The question is whether that work is consuming your experienced technicians, being handed to a subcontractor, or being completed through a defined factory build process before the panel reaches site.
Option 1
Build In-House
Maximum control, built to your own standards
- Uses experienced technicians for assembly and wiring
- Workshop and site hours compete with installation and commissioning work
- True labour cost is often buried in project overhead
Option 2
Subcontract It
Frees your team, adds capacity when you need it
- Build standards and documentation can vary
- Another subcontractor to manage and coordinate
- Power-system engineering usually isn't their core competency
Option 3: Powerbox
Powerbox Integrated Panels
Engineered, integrated and site-ready
- Keep skilled technicians focused on installation, programming and commissioning
- DC-UPS, battery and protected distribution engineered around the actual access control requirement
- Customer equipment integrated to a defined configuration and inspection process
The business case
Five Reasons It Works
Powerbox takes the panel build off your critical path, combining your chosen security platform with an engineered power system in a factory-built enclosure ready for site.
01
Recover Skilled Labour
Keep experienced technicians on installation, commissioning, programming and fault-finding, not repetitive panel assembly.
Technicians on billable work, not panel builds
02
Move Work Off Site
Panel assembly happens in a controlled factory environment before the enclosure reaches site, ahead of your installation and commissioning window.
Site hours removed, not just labour saved
03
Standardise the Result
A defined build process gives repeatable outcomes across technicians, projects, branches and sites.
One agreed architecture, repeated across every site
04
Engineer the Power Properly
DC-UPS, batteries, distribution and cabling are engineered as one system around your access control load, not assembled around it.
You don't need to be the power-system engineer
05
Predictable Project Costs
A quoted, defined deliverable in place of technician hours buried inside project overhead.
A known panel cost, not an unknown number of hours
Who's building your panel
Power Systems Expertise, Applied to Access Control
Access control panel integration is a new application for Powerbox, but the engineering behind it is familiar territory. We bring decades of experience in power conversion, battery backup and system integration across telecommunications, rail, utilities and critical infrastructure.
Power Systems Engineering, Not Just Assembly
Powerbox is a power systems specialist first. The same principles we apply to DC-UPS, battery backup, distribution and system integration are applied to every access control panel configuration.
Experience Across Demanding Applications
For decades, Powerbox has supplied and integrated power systems for telecommunications, rail, utilities and critical infrastructure, where correct sizing, reliable backup and disciplined system design matter.
Defined Build Standards. Powerbox Accountability.
Every panel is built to an agreed Powerbox configuration and inspection process, whether assembled directly or through a pre-qualified manufacturing partner. Powerbox remains your point of technical responsibility throughout.
What's included
You Free-Issue the Access Control Gear. We Supply the Rest.
Controllers, expansion modules and peripherals come from you. Powerbox supplies the enclosure, DC-UPS, battery and power distribution, and integrates it all into one completed assembly.
Powerbox-supplied
Enclosure
The enclosure is selected and configured around the equipment, installation environment and required level of protection, with a focus on clean layout and serviceability.
- Sized around equipment count and panel layout
- IP rating selected to suit the installation environment
- Cable entry and ducting configured for the project
- Layout designed for clear access, commissioning and maintenance
Powerbox-supplied
Power Supply / DC-UPS
Powerbox DC-UPS systems provide regulated power, battery charging and automatic backup in one integrated solution, sized around the actual access control load and required runtime.
- Sized to suit connected load with appropriate operating margin
- Battery capacity matched to the required backup time
- Alarm and monitoring functions configured where required
- Cabling sized to minimise voltage drop to connected equipment
Powerbox-supplied
Power Distribution / PDU
JackFuse PDUs distribute DC power into individually protected circuits, helping isolate faults, improve circuit visibility and simplify commissioning and ongoing service.
- Circuit protection matched to connected equipment and cabling
- Clear individual circuit status indication
- Fire-trip functionality available where required
- Distribution configured around the final panel design
FREE - ISSUED BY YOU
Access Control Equipment
Your free-issued access control equipment is mechanically installed and wired into the enclosure before dispatch, reducing the amount of assembly required on site.
- Controllers and modules installed to the agreed panel layout
- Power and interconnection wiring completed within the enclosure
- Supports your selected access control platform
- Reduces panel assembly and wiring required on site
How it works
From Requirement to Site-Ready
You define the access control requirement and provide the equipment. Powerbox engineers the enclosure and power system, provides a defined quote, then builds, wires and verifies the completed assembly before dispatch.
01
Define the Requirement
Tell us what you're building, the equipment being used, required backup time and key site requirements.
02
Engineer & Quote
We size the DC-UPS, batteries, distribution and enclosure, resolve the technical details and issue a defined project quote.
03
Design Drawings
Preliminary drawings are available on request at the quotation stage. Upon receipt of a purchase order, detailed workshop drawings are submitted for customer approval and sign-off.
04
Equipment Received
Your free-issued access control equipment is received and checked against the agreed project schedule.
05
Build & Integrate
We install the Powerbox power system and mechanically integrate and wire your access control equipment to the agreed configuration.
06
Inspect & Verify
The completed assembly is checked against the agreed configuration, including power operation, wiring, terminations and circuit identification.
07
Ready for Site
The completed panel is signed off and dispatched substantially ready for final site connections, programming and commissioning.
Built. Inspected. Signed Off.
Every completed enclosure is checked against the agreed project configuration before dispatch, including the Powerbox DC power system, internal wiring, circuit identification and assembly.

Platform support
Built Around the Systems You Already Use
Powerbox integrates customer-supplied access control equipment from a range of established platforms, including:
We also support other access control platforms where the hardware and project requirements are suitable. Talk to us about your preferred system.
Time on site
Less Time on First-Fix, More Time on the Next Job
Because the panel arrives built, inspected and documented, your team spends less time on-site wiring and troubleshooting. That's a direct result of the rigour built into every panel, not the headline reason to use it.
