FAQs
The MEA-300A24C HAA delivers 24Vdc at 12.5A (300W) — the highest-power model in the Delta MEA medical adapter series. It accepts a universal 90–264Vac input via a C8 (figure-8, non-earthed) input socket and is designed for medical devices requiring a high-power external adapter without a protective earth connection.
Certified to IEC 60601-1 for medical electrical equipment safety with 2×MOPP (Means of Patient Protection) input-to-output isolation — qualifying it for patient care environment use and meeting IEC60601-1 3rd edition leakage current requirements.
The C8 connector is a 2-pin unearthed (Class II) IEC mains inlet — the same figure-8 connector found on many laptops and AV devices. Unlike a C14 connector, it does not provide a protective earth connection. This is appropriate for equipment that achieves its safety through double/reinforced insulation (Class II), eliminating the need for an earth wire while maintaining IEC60601-1 compliance via 2×MOPP isolation.
The adapter achieves DOE Efficiency Level VI — meeting the highest tier of external power supply energy efficiency standards. This reduces standby losses and heat generation in continuously energised medical equipment applications.
Both are 24Vdc medical-grade external adapters from Delta's MEA series, but differ in connector type and power rating. The MEA-300A24C HAA delivers 300W at 12.5A via a C8 unearthed input; the MEA-250A24C H-A delivers 250W at 10.42A via a C14 earthed input. Select the MEA-300A24C HAA when the equipment design uses Class II insulation and requires 300W of 24Vdc.
High-power medical equipment requiring an externally mounted, hospital-approved 24Vdc power adapter — including medical imaging, patient monitoring, surgical, dental, and laboratory devices. The Class II (unearthed) construction is appropriate for equipment relying on double insulation for primary safety.
