1a) If more PV power is connected, the controller will limit input power.

1b) The PV voltage must exceed Vbat + 5V for the controller to start. Thereafter the minimum PV voltage is Vbat + 1V./p>

2) A higher sort circuit current may damage the controller in case of reverse polarity connection of the PV array.

FAQs
The first number in the model designation is the maximum PV open circuit voltage (75V or 100V) and the second is the maximum charge current. The MPPT 75/10 suits the smallest arrays (up to 145W at 12Vdc or 290W at 24Vdc); the 75/15 and 100/15 both deliver 15A and support up to 220W at 12V or 440W at 24V; the 100/20 is the step-up model, delivering 20A and supporting up to 290W at 12V, 580W at 24V, or 580W at 48V — and is the only model in this group to support 48Vdc battery systems.
All four models achieve up to 98% maximum efficiency and feature multi-stage adaptive charging, auto-select battery voltage detection (12/24Vdc; 48Vdc on the 100/20), and built-in Bluetooth for wireless configuration and monitoring via the VictronConnect app. Absorption voltage defaults to 14.4V/28.8V and float to 13.8V/27.6V, both adjustable. Operating temperature range is –30°C to +60°C (full rated output to 40°C).
The Battery Life algorithm monitors cumulative battery state of charge over time and dynamically adjusts the load disconnect threshold to prevent chronic under-charging — a common failure mode in small off-grid systems where solar input is intermittent. Rather than disconnecting at a fixed voltage, it adapts over days and weeks to the actual energy balance of the system, significantly extending battery service life in unattended installations.
The MPPT 75/10, 75/15, and 100/15 include a dedicated load output rated at 15A, and the 100/20 at 20A. This output powers DC loads directly from the controller and automatically disconnects when battery voltage drops to the configurable low-voltage disconnect threshold (default 11.1V/22.2V for 12V systems), protecting the battery from deep discharge. It is particularly useful for powering CCTV cameras, LED lighting, telemetry devices, or other small DC loads in remote off-grid installations.
The multi-stage adaptive charge algorithm supports lead-acid, gel, and AGM batteries, with absorption and float voltages fully adjustable to suit specific battery manufacturers' requirements. These controllers are well matched to small off-grid industrial applications such as remote monitoring stations, rural telemetry, CCTV, and trackside or roadside equipment, as well as RV, caravan, and marine solar systems.
The SmartSolar MPPT 75/10 to 100/20 series meets EN/IEC 62109-1, UL 1741, and CSA C22.2 for electrical safety. The enclosure is rated IP43 for the electronics and IP22 at the connection area. Protection features include battery reverse polarity (fused), output short circuit, and over-temperature shutdown. The compact unit (as small as 100 × 113 × 40mm, 0.5kg) is rated for indoor, unconditioned environments up to 5000m altitude.
VE.Direct is Victron Energy's proprietary serial communication port, allowing the controller to connect to GX devices (such as the Cerbo GX), PC monitoring software (VictronConnect), data loggers, and third-party monitoring platforms. Combined with Bluetooth Smart built into each unit, it enables real-time data logging, historical yield reporting, load control, and remote firmware updates without requiring additional hardware.
