1a) If more PV power is connected, the controller will limit input power.
1b) The PV voltage must exceed Vbat + 5V for the controller to start. Thereafter the minimum PV voltage is Vbat + 1V./p>
2) A higher sort circuit current may damage the controller in case of reverse polarity connection of the PV array.

FAQs
All five models share the same 150V maximum PV open circuit voltage and support 12/24/48Vdc battery systems (36Vdc available via software selection). The model numbers indicate maximum charge current: 45A, 60A, 70A, 85A, or 100A respectively. At 48Vdc, nominal PV power ranges from 2600W (150/45) up to 5800W (150/100). Select based on your maximum PV array size and required charge rate — contact Powerbox at sales@powerbox.com.au for system sizing assistance.
All models accept a maximum PV open circuit voltage of 150V (145V start-up and operating maximum) and operate at up to 98% conversion efficiency. Battery voltage is auto-detected across 12V, 24V, and 48V (36V requires software selection). Self-consumption is less than 35mA at 12V and 20mA at 48V. Temperature compensation is –16mV/°C (12V), –32mV/°C (24V), or –64mV/°C (48V). Charge voltage defaults are fully adjustable via rotary switch, optional display, VE.Direct, or Bluetooth.
The 150-series raises the maximum PV open circuit voltage from 100V to 150V, enabling connection of higher-voltage panel strings without additional string combining. The series also introduces parallel operation capability, a programmable DPST relay (rated 240Vac/4A or 4A up to 35Vdc), a remote on/off input, and an optional pluggable LCD display — features absent from the 100-series.
The MPPT 150-series offers eight pre-programmed adaptive multi-stage charge algorithms covering sealed lead-acid, gel, AGM, and other battery types, plus a fully user-defined algorithm for custom battery profiles. An equalization charge function is also available (default 16.2/32.4/48.6/64.8V, adjustable), useful for managing flooded lead-acid batteries in industrial and off-grid applications.
The MPPT 150/45, 150/60, and 150/70 models weigh 3kg and measure 185 × 250 × 95mm (Tr) or 215 × 250 × 95mm (MC4). The 150/85 and 150/100 are slightly larger at 4.5kg. All models are rated IP43 for electronics and IP22 at the connection area, and operate from –30°C to +60°C (full rated output to 40°C) at altitudes to 5000m — suitable for demanding outdoor enclosures in Australian climate conditions.
Each unit includes built-in Bluetooth Smart for wireless monitoring and configuration via the VictronConnect app, plus a VE.Direct port for wired connection to Cerbo GX, CCGX, or compatible monitoring equipment. A programmable DPST relay enables external alarm or load control functions. Remote on/off is available via a 2-pole connector. An optional pluggable LCD display module can be added for on-unit visibility without a smartphone.
The MPPT 150-series complies with EN/IEC 62109-1, UL 1741, and CSA C22.2. Protection features include battery reverse polarity (fused), PV reverse polarity, output short circuit, and over-temperature protection. The Battery Recovery function can charge batteries discharged to zero volts — a practical feature for maintaining battery health in remote or infrequently serviced industrial installations across Australia and New Zealand.
