It is the charger at the centre of a battery-backed DC auxiliary system, keeping protection, tripping and control running when AC is lost.
The rectifiers charge the station battery and supply the standing load, while the controller sets the charge voltage and manages the battery. When AC is lost, the battery carries the load. The shelf takes up to five hot-pluggable DPR 3000B-110 rectifier modules, so you can start with the modules the load needs now and add more as it grows without replacing the shelf. The adjustable output covers float and boost charging of both 110V and 125V nominal batteries, and an integrated DC/DC converter runs the controller from the 110Vdc bus, so no separate controller supply is needed.
The DPS 3000 110V suits any site with HV or MV switchgear that needs a dependable tripping supply: transmission and distribution substations, rail traction substations, BESS and renewable energy connection substations, mining switchrooms and e-houses, and data centre HV substations. Typical DC loads include protection relays, trip and close circuits, spring-charge motors, SCADA and alarms, emergency lighting, and security and fire detection. For battery sizing, voltage selection and duplicated systems, see our 110V and 125V DC power systems guide.
Powerbox supplies the DPS 3000 110V in two ways. As a subrack core, the shelf comes with rectifiers and Orion Touch controller, configured and tested for integration into your own cabinet or switchroom. As a turnkey system, Powerbox builds it into a cabinet with DC distribution and batteries designed to your load, standby hours and site requirements, and tests it before delivery so it arrives ready to connect.
Spare and expansion modules are available as the Delta DPR 3000B-110 rectifier module. The Delta Orion Touch controller fitted to this system shares its platform with the standalone Delta CU-31AF site controller.

Features
- Single or 3-phase input accepts 90–300Vac single phase or 156–520Vac 3-phase Wye, to suit the supply available on site
- 96.5% peak rectifier efficiency keeps losses and heat in the switchroom low
- Power factor above 0.99 and THD below 3.5% at full load place a clean load on the AC supply
- Full front access for installation, wiring and module changes, so the shelf can sit against a wall or at the back of a cabinet
- Hot-pluggable rectifiers can be swapped without shutting the system down
- Start with the rectifiers the load needs and add modules as it grows, up to 15kW or 12kW with N+1 redundancy
- Current sharing within ±5% of maximum current spreads the load evenly across modules
- Integrated DC/DC converter runs the Orion Touch controller from the 110Vdc bus, with no separate controller supply
- Temperature-compensated float, boost and equalised charging with charge current limit to look after the station battery
- Two 80A 2-pole battery breakers, a 500A battery LVD and space for seven C60 load breakers built into the shelf
- Six programmable dry-contact alarm outputs and a log of more than 10,000 events for site SCADA and fault finding
