The Delta ORION Touch Controller is a power system controller that monitors and manages a DC power system from a single hot-pluggable unit. It supervises rectifiers, converters and batteries, controls site infrastructure and delivers processed data and alarms remotely, so you can manage the site without being there.

Its modular design scales with the site. The controller provides basic I/O on board, and optional I/O modules connect over IMBUS, a robust CAN-based communication bus, to expand the system as it grows. Because the unit is hot-pluggable, you can replace it without shutting down the power system. A micro SD card slot enables automatic backup, and loadable configurations, battery profiles, communication protocols and device drivers keep maintenance straightforward.

One ORION Touch Controller brings Delta and Eltek rectifiers, PV converters and DC/DC converters, along with Eltek Rectiverters and boost converters, under one point of control. Eltek power modules integrate through a second CAN interface using the eNexus protocol, and third-party devices connect over RS485 or Ethernet using Modbus, SNMP or a proprietary protocol.

Battery functions include temperature-compensated float, boost and equalise charging, low voltage disconnection, backup time supervision, lifetime prediction and automatic battery testing. The controller supports lead acid, NiCad and lithium batteries, including combined lithium and lead acid systems.

On sites with renewable sources or diesel generators, intelligent energy saving features prioritise renewable energy, optimise rectifier system efficiency through advanced rectifier cycling and minimise generator fuel consumption. Integrated PLC functions add flexible supervision and control of auxiliary devices and other site infrastructure.

You can monitor and configure the system on the colour touch display, through the built-in web server with configurable access rights and user profiles, or remotely via SNMP, Modbus, MQTT, HTTP-API, REST and Syslog over Gigabit Ethernet, RS232, RS485 or modem. Six potential-free changeover contacts provide dry-contact alarming, and the optional UIM Touch adds a second colour touch display.

The ORION Touch Controller is fully backwards compatible with previous ORION versions, so you can use it to upgrade the functionality of existing systems in the field.
