The PBBSEC-1205-4 is a 12 Vdc, 5A, 60W security power supply built for Australian residential and light commercial installations — designed to handle the continuous, mixed loads that generic IT adapters and consumer plug packs can't reliably manage.

It delivers clean, regulated power to CCTV cameras, NVRs, alarms, access control modules, smart doorbells, and other always-on devices, with four individually protected output channels so a fault on one device doesn't take down the rest of the system.

Adjustable 10–14 Vdc output lets installers compensate for voltage drop on long cable runs or fine-tune for voltage-sensitive equipment, reducing camera dropouts, device resets, and NVR instability.

It's certified to AS/NZS 62368.1 for residential and commercial security installations, giving installers and distributors confidence the unit meets mandatory Australian safety requirements — a clear point of difference over generic power bricks.

Compact and wall-mountable, the PBBSEC-1205-4 fits easily into cupboards, comms enclosures, and small security hubs across residential and light commercial sites. It ships with an IEC inlet, an AS/NZS-approved mains lead, and a front-panel LED status indicator — ready to install and power up.

Features
  • AS/NZS 62368.1 Certified (GMA-527593-EA) - Certified for residential and light commercial security installations, reducing compliance risk for installers and giving homeowners confidence the supply is safe and fit for purpose.
  • Four Individually Protected Output Channels, 5A Total - An overload or short-circuit on one channel is isolated to that channel only, so the rest of the system stays online while you find the fault.
  • Adjustable 10–14Vdc Output - Compensates for voltage drop on long cable runs or fine-tunes supply for voltage-sensitive devices, without needing a separate power source.
  • Regulated Output, Ripple & Noise Below 200mVp-p - Clean, stable 12Vdc power reduces dropouts and resets that noisy, low-cost supplies cause in connected cameras and recorders.
  • Overtemperature Protection with Auto-Reset - Shuts down automatically if internal temperature exceeds safe limits, then resumes operation once conditions normalise, with no manual reset needed.
  • Universal 100–240Vac Input with AS/NZS-Approved Mains Lead Included - Ready for any site without reconfiguration, supplied with a compliant 1.5m IEC C14 lead so there's nothing extra to source.
  • Wall-Mountable Enclosure with Removable Output Cover and LED Status Indicator - Compact 167 × 55 × 35mm housing fits comms cupboards and cabinets, with a front-panel LED for quick power confirmation without a multimeter.

FAQs
Standard IT plug packs and consumer switching adapters are built for stable, predictable loads in controlled environments — not the always-on, mixed loads of a multi-device security system. In practice they fail security applications for four reasons: they have no per-channel fault isolation, so a single short circuit on one camera or door controller can drop the entire system; their fixed output voltage cannot be trimmed to compensate for voltage drop on longer cable runs, causing brownouts and device resets; they are not certified to AS/NZS 62368.1 and typically not registered on the EESS, creating compliance risk for the installer and building owner; and they are not rated for continuous 24/7 operation at the elevated temperatures common in roof cavities and comms cupboards. The PBBSEC-1205-4 addresses all four: four independently protected channels, adjustable 10–14Vdc output, AS/NZS 62368.1 certification (GMA-527593-EA), and continuous full-load operation from 0–40°C on natural convection cooling.
The PBBSEC-1205-4 delivers a nominal 12Vdc output (adjustable 10–14Vdc) with a total of 5A shared across four channels, for 60W maximum output. It accepts a universal 100–240Vac input (90–264Vac operating range) at 50/60Hz, achieves ≥88% efficiency, and holds output ripple and noise below 200mVp-p.
The PBBSEC-1205-4 powers 12Vdc residential and light commercial security equipment, including CCTV and IP cameras, NVRs and DVRs, alarm panels and peripherals, access control systems (door controllers, electric strikes, magnetic locks, and proximity readers), smart doorbells, intercoms and video entry systems, and wireless repeaters or IoT security hubs. Its four independently protected outputs make it well suited to installations where multiple device types share a single power enclosure.
The PBBSEC-1205-4 provides four output channels sharing a total capacity of 5A, each with its own overload and short-circuit protection in hiccup (auto-reset) mode. A wiring fault, short circuit, or device failure on one channel is contained, so the remaining three channels keep operating — isolating faults and narrowing troubleshooting to a single circuit, unlike single-output supplies where any fault can bring down the whole system.
Yes. The PBBSEC-1205-4 includes a front-panel voltage trim control that adjusts the output across 10–14Vdc. This lets installers compensate for voltage drop over longer cable runs so that devices at the end of a run receive the voltage they need, without adding inline regulators.
The PBBSEC-1205-4 is certified to AS/NZS 62368.1 (certification number GMA-527539-EA), the Australian and New Zealand standard covering the safety of audio/video, information, and communication technology equipment, and is registered on the Electrical Equipment Safety System (EESS). It meets AS/NZS CISPR 32 Class B for EMC, and its efficiency complies with GEMS/MEPS/E3 and DoE Level VI.
The PBBSEC-1205-4 is rated for continuous full-load operation from 0–40°C ambient using natural convection cooling, no fan required, with over-temperature shutdown (auto-reset) safeguarding it in hot locations such as roof cavities and enclosed comms cupboards. The compact wall-mountable polycarbonate enclosure (UL94 V-0) measures 167 x 55 x 35mm and weighs approximately 245g. It ships with a 1.5m AS/NZS 3112-approved mains lead for a standard Australian GPO (connecting to the supply's IEC 60320-1 C14 inlet), with output wiring via an 8-way barrier screw terminal block (2.5mm² conductors, M3 screws).
The PBBSEC-1205-4 is a mains-powered AC/DC supply and does not include battery backup; for installations requiring UPS functionality, Powerbox offers a range of DC UPS solutions and security system interfaces for electronic security applications. The PBBSEC-1205-4 is available through selected authorised security distributors and Powerbox.
