FAQs
The 2U kit supports up to 2 Flatpack2 48/3200 HE Solar modules and a maximum PV input of 6.4kW, while the 3U kit supports up to 4 modules and up to 12.8kW — both using the same 85–420Vdc input range and 53.5Vdc output. Choose the 2U for smaller or initial-stage deployments; choose the 3U where higher PV capacity or future expansion is required from day one.
Each shelf accepts a PV input voltage of 85–420Vdc, with an MPPT operating range of 100–380Vdc and a start-up voltage of 150Vdc. Maximum input current per module is 20.3A. The default output voltage is 53.5Vdc (adjustable 42–57.6Vdc), with the 2U shelf delivering up to 6400W and the 3U shelf up to 12800W when PV input is ≥170Vdc.
The shelves are designed specifically for Delta Eltek Flatpack2 and Flatpack S DC power systems and are engineered to house the Flatpack2 48/3200 HE Solar Converter (MPPT) modules. They can be integrated into new builds or retrofitted into existing compatible Flatpack2 enclosures, supporting both indoor and outdoor cabinet installations — making them well suited for telecom site expansions without a full system replacement.
Hot-pluggable design means the Flatpack2 HE Solar modules can be installed, replaced, or removed while the system remains powered and operational — eliminating the need for system shutdown during maintenance or module swap. This is particularly valuable on remote telecom sites or critical infrastructure where any unplanned outage has significant downstream impact.
The Flatpack2 48/3200 HE Solar modules include fuse and varistor transient protection, reverse polarity protection, overvoltage shutdown, short-circuit protection, high-temperature shutdown with fan failure alarm, earth fault detection at start-up, and low input voltage shutdown. LED status indicators (red for alarms, yellow for warnings, green for normal operation) provide at-a-glance system health monitoring.
Both shelves operate across a temperature range of –40°C to +75°C, making them suitable for harsh Australian outback and remote site conditions. The 2U shelf measures 482 × 384 × 89mm and weighs approximately 7kg; the 3U shelf measures 482 × 384 × 133mm at approximately 10kg. A minimum cabinet depth of 400mm is required. Each shelf includes MC4 connectors and 2-pole service switches per PV array string.
The Delta Eltek Solar Extension Kit complies with EN 60950-1, EN 62368-1, EN 62109-1/-2 for electrical safety; ETSI EN 300 386 and EN 61000-6 series for EMC; and ETSI EN 300 019 Class 1.2, 2.3, and 3.2 for environmental conditions — all standard requirements for Australian and international telecom infrastructure deployments. The system is specifically optimised for radio base stations, cell sites, broadband nodes, and FTTx infrastructure.
