Our long and very broad experience in power supply development enables us to offer custom designed products for a wide variety of electronics. Everything from small to very large, from one input to many inputs, from ultra low voltage (few V) to high voltage (10’s of kV), etc. Our strength is in complex designs with many output voltages, high isolation and tough environmental conditions.
More than one hundred man years of experience in power conversion technology is your guarantee that Powerbox will always provide an optimal power solution regardless of the complexity of the application, or the demanding requirements of its subsequent production. |
 |
| Production Capacity |
| Powerbox undertakes projects with production runs of just a few units to very large volume per year. We seek to understand the demands of the application and design the products according to the environmental conditions and the specified life expectancy of the products. We build close relationships with our customers and often become the single source of products, providing full support to the design process. |
| Production Automation |
| With a broad application spectrum, ranging from military projects in small volumes to consumer applications with >50,000 units per year, each project is automated to the maximum extent. The trend is towards extensive automation and the more price sensitive the product, the more automation is required in design and production. |
| Production Flexibility |
The development time for projects decreases year by year. Life cycles become shorter leading to shortened call-off requirements. Powerbox is able to meet the demands of the market by managing shorter development times. We also try to be flexible in production volume and manage short call-offs for production, thus decreasing time to market. Every project has its own life and soul, and we try to nurse the project for maximum flexibility and profitability for our customers. |
 |
 |
Throughout the manufacturing process, quality control and environmental concerns are under continual control of specialist Powerbox engineers.
Product development is undertaken at any of serval R&D centres in Europe, the United States of America, Australia and Asia. Subsequent assembly takes place at one of several world class contract manufacturers utilising the latest production technology and a highly skilled work force. |

We define our Open Frame and Enclosed power supplies as printed circuit boards that may have L or U shaped heat sink and may also have a cover. Generally these power supplies are intended for built-in use in OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing) applications.
General Purpose
The general purpose power supplies are available in Open Frame or Enclosed Power Supply mechanical format. They are typically suited to power up data communication equipment and peripherals, fax and copy machines as well as other office machines.
High Performance Purpose
Powerbox range of power supplies for high performance purpose includes power supplies suitable for telecom applications as well as for datacom and “the new telecoms world” (telecom+datacom). It is the perfect choice when high reliability and performance are the most important criteria for the selection of the power supply. |

The Powerbox range of modular power supplies range from 1.5W to 600W with single, dual and triple outputs.
Output voltages are available from 1.8V to 48V depending upon product family and power rating.
These DC-DC converters use the latest switch mode conversion technology, for example synchronised switching, giving high performance, excellent reliability and small sizes. The modules come packaged in industry standard footprints. Our high performance converters are designed for both Telecom and Industrial applications.
The DC-DC converters are available with input ranges from 2:1 to 4:1, thereby reducing the demand on input voltage regulation and ensuring good operation.
Most of our DC/DC converters have six-sided metallic shields, enhancing the performance on radiated emissions and the level of susceptibility. They incorporate excellent filtering both on input and output, giving the ability to integrate well into any system.
All modules are 100% burn-in and the MTBF is from 300.000 hours. All DC-DC converters incorporate protection circuitry and the design is based on long time field experience and diverse application knowledge. |

We have recently designed a new range of Security Power Supply units to specifically meet the needs of Australian security applications. These Security Power Supply units are versatile and suited to a wide variety of Australian applications.
Under normal conditions the units supply the load while float charging a battery. On loss of Mains Power, the battery is connected to the load providing backup. Once Mains has been restored, the battery is again float charged and the AC mains resumes supplying the load.
Alarms for DC ok and Battery ok can be used to continuously monitor status. The units feature an IEC input for safe and easy installation. Plug in Phoenix terminals provide a convenient way of connecting / disconnecting the output and alarm terminals.
An optional wall mount box allows one unit plus batteries to be enclosed for wall mounting. |

The Powerbox external power supply range covers power ratings from 20 to 330 watt.
Our external power for general purpose is suitable for many different applications, for example POS (Point of Sales), data communications, ISDN, modems, scanners and similar applications. Some series offer lighter weight and more rugged design, and are therefore suitable for mobile applications.
The high performance external power supply series is designed for demanding applications and harsh environments. |

Powerbox understand that Railway Converters encounter some of the most demanding application conditions.
To be reliable, these units must be rugged against harsh electrical, environmental and physical stresses typical of Rolling Stock.
The Powerbox range of DC DC Converters and DC AC Inverters have been specifically designed and tested to withstand these requirements.
The PB271 range of DC DC converters has a wide 45 - 154Vdc input voltage and is available with 12 or 24Vdc output.
The PBSP range of DC AC inverters are available with 110Vdc input at 2.5kVA, 96Vdc at 3.5kVA and 74Vdc at 4kVA and can provide 240Vac, 50Hz ac power from the train generator and batteries. |
